To let you know I am 100% Jamaican, not like I would want
to be anything else, after all its the best damn place to be (along with Africa
of course, although I haven't been there yet, but It's all about the Mother Land). I'm black so I
appreciate anything done by black people ain't nothing different just different
places same struggle. I would like
to call this little project a self-proclaimed nonjudgmental (or something like
that) gesture of my takes on this world. So
sit back and be amazed. I'm at the
moment still a teenager, yeah I'm still young so you don't have to take me
seriously If you don't want to, but then again you are probably young too which
makes it harder for you to listen and comprehend-Don't worry Its not your fault
it comes along with the joy of being young, I'm guessing that God couldn't make
everybody whose young a genius because there will be nothing for you to look
forward to, no goals for you to set, and most of all no mistakes to learn from.
You are probably thinking why is that such a bad thing?
Well the way I see it, the more this world advances the more people are
trying to be like God. In this
world everybody is being monitored, can't nobody just live no more, every
country has an army, most countries are for themselves and if they seem as if
they are not there is a reason behind that, either they are trying to gain more
power or they are the underdogs trying to follow under the higher ranked
country. That's just how I'm seeing it, and that's how I'm calling it.
Have you ever sit and think about when you were younger and how you use
to criticize older kids and ask yourself why are they doing certain things,
which at the time might have looked to be a bad thing to do, Only to realize you
were to grow older and start doing the same things, make the same mistakes, get
the same grades in school, hate the same teachers and basically think the same
way. Then boooooom, without you
realizing you are not criticizing those things no more, but there is always
somebody younger to criticize you, who in turn is gonna be in your shoes
sometime soon. The path at which
I'm taking this little reality check is that this entire world is a cycle, yes a
cycle. Everything is repeated and
there isn't really anything new. My
struggles has been somebody else's struggle, your pain has been felt before, so
try not to ask why me Lord-cause it didn't help the person before you so its
definitely not gonna help you or the person after you.
Try to take a different approach, don't blame yourself and more
importantly don't blame somebody else for your problems.
There are few persons in this world that will actually sit and listen to your
problems, and what you might think about certain situations. Some might listen to
you but only to tell you how wrong you are and then give you a lecture about
their ideas in such a manner as to get you to forget about yours. Sharing your ideas
with others is perfectly ok, but most people seem to make it out to be a
political argument, by so they listen to your points but instead of giving you
inspiration about your views, they try to dismiss your views entirely and bring
in what they know (think) is a better way out. Just because thats the
route that they took. Me personally found out that everybody that I've
grown to know is like that, with exception of my Mother, she always listened and
gave encouragement, and she always made it clear that the sky is the limit,
whatever I want in life, the world is mine. I too have fallen in that
trap, and hardly ever listen to and give encouragement to others, so my new year
resolution is to listen more and help others develop their minds. After
all everybody is entitled to freedom of speech, at least thats what they
said. So as to not get you
confused I'm not a person who is trying
to shove anything into your head, I'm just a normal person who can
just recognize the problems but can't solve them for everybody, so my main focus
is solving my problems, and to encourage others to solve theirs. Please don't forget these are my views, they don't necessarily have to
be yours, they are just mine. Lets talk good music for a moment, the only good music I
recognize is Reggae and Hip-Hop and I also listen to R&B when its
appropriate. I enjoy Rap more than
anything else-mainly Tupac (R.I.P.), Dead Prez, Ras Kass, Outkast, Snoop Dogg,
Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Tash, DJ Quik, Jay-Z, Canibus, Biggie (R.I.P.), Xzibit, &
Scarface just to name a few. Let me
hear any Bob Marley joint and that alone makes me happy.
If a song or a MC does not fit my criteria of being REAL, then I'm not
going to be able to relate to his songs. What
I call REAL is the ability to get on the mic and talk about situations that a
majority might be able to relate to, most brothas don't have a 500 Benz, a big
house, expensive jewelry, and the most girls they can knock off a night, to
their convenience. Don't get me
wrong I do listen to these MCs talking about material things, I'm not trying to
knock a next mans hustle, but I try not to let it influence me as much.
I also write rhymes myself, and I can safely say I'm much better than
some cats who are out making millions in the biz right now, so don't be
surprised if you see me rockin' the mic on BET and the BOX sometime soon (its
ok, you can laugh but you'll be the same one going to the record store asking
for my album). Since I'm here I'll also take this little opportunity to BIG UP all my real negros and nigrorets. One Love to everybody from outta Sav-La-Mar, Mannings High School, Bam-Rush family and my bwoys Kemar aka Dyjab and Kenneth aka Easy-E. If you know in yourself that you are my true friend, then this "shout out" is for you too. To all the girls I've grown to know-Black is Beautiful, keep it that way. To all my bredrens-The future is grimy, It will begin but shall not end! FAM FOR LIFE! LOVE YOU'LL
